An ex-militants group under the aegis of Former Forest Soldiers, FFS, aka Isaac Boro Last Born, yesterday, threatened to return to the creeks and unleash mayhem on government, oil and gas facilities in Southern part of the country in 14 days’ time unless the Federal Government enlist them in the amnesty programme.

This is coming less than 24 hours the group surrendered weapons to broker peace with the government.

The group through its leader, ‘General’ O.C. Ibori, said:, “After years of several peaceful dialogues with the Federal Government represented by the Special Adviser to the President on Amnesty, Brig. Gen. Paul Boro (retd) in which the Federal Government agreed on many occasions to enlist us into the amnesty programme, the government has failed to fulfil its own side of the deal.

“Instead of fulfilling its own part of the several agreements, the government started linking us to some recent kidnappings in the Arepo area of Lagos and other destructive activities by the Niger Delta Avengers that we knew nothing about.

“It is clear that the government has chosen force and fire instead of peace. It should be known that we only ceased fire in the face of the various dialogue but we have not laid down our weapons completely and our over 25 camps spread along the coastal area have not been disarmed. Now, we are breaking forth again for destruction, in a monumental level this time.

“As such we are now giving the Federal Government two weeks ultimatum within which it must enlist us in the amnesty programme. At the expiry of this ultimatum, we will embark on the destruction of government and oil facilities across Niger Delta in a large scale that will take the government over 20 years to repair.”
