Metro NDLEA Impounds N137m Cocaine

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency seized 12.455 kilograms of cocaine valued at N137 million at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos. The amount was the sum total of the illegal narcotic seized from four suspects and those recovered from an abandoned shipment of flasks.

The cocaine reportedly originated from Panama, Central America flown in by a KLM flight.

The names of the four suspects according to the NDLEA Airport commander, Mr. Hamza Umar, were Onwuegbuaku Anslem, 35 – found with 1.510kg of cocaine; Ifediora Obunike, 26 – found with 1.070kg of cocaine; Ohaebuson Nicholas, 28 – 2.175kg of cocaine; and Nwabueze Kansiriyochukwu, 31 – found with 3.100kg of cocaine.

Mr. Umar assured the press that all suspects would be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
