Barcelona have confirmed that their Brazilian star,Neymar, has been diagnosed with anaemia.
However the club said that the sickness will not hinder Neymar from taking part in the remaining pre-season matches.
“Due to an operation on his tonsils this summer the player is suffering a case of anaemia that is being treated and won’t impede him from training with normality with the rest of his teammates,’’ a statement read.
Anaemia is a treatable condition but affects the preformances of athletes,as a low level of hemoglobin in the blood stream can cause excessive levels of tiredness.
Barcelona signed Neymar from Brazilian side Santos in a mouthwatering deal of (£49.5 million),after several tussles with fellow Spanish side,Real Madrid.
The 21-year old has been put on a special diet by the club’s medical staff to ease the signs of the ailment.
Neymar is currently with Barcelona in Israel on a ‘’Peace Tour’’ of the Middle East, and is in line to start the league campaign with the club in a league game against Levante on August 18.
