Nigeria- Acting Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Mounir Gwarzo and capital market operators are set to meet today to discuss how to stabilise the nation’s capital market, ThisDay reports:


Capital market operators will this Wednesday meet with the Acting Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Mounir Gwarzo to discuss how to stabilise the nation’s capital market.

Gwarzo took over the running of the apex capital market regulator on January 12, following the exit of Ms. Arunma Oteh, whose first tenure ended January 6.

Since assumption of office, the acting DG, was said to have been in consultations with stakeholders and has urged the staff of the commission to continue to work together in order to move the market forward.

Chairman of Association of Stockbroking House of Nigeria(ASHON), Mr. Emeka Madubuike, President of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers(CIS), Mr. Albert Okumagba, and the Chairman of Association of Issuing Houses of Nigeria (AIHN), Mr. Victor Ogienwonyi will lead other members of the bodies to a meeting with the SEC boss in Abuja.
