Unknown gunmen yesterday shot a Police Sergeant along Garrison/ waterlines junction of Port Harcourt, an eye witness said.
Eye witnesses said the gunmen in a Toyota saloon car ambushed a Police patrol team as they were driving through the popular Garrison junction and opened fire on the patrol team and in the process killed a Police Sergeant.
"This incident happened around 10.00am yesterday. We saw a patrol team with Policemen. Suddenly we heard a gun shot which was directed at the patrol team. When the dust settled, we discovered that a Police Sergeant has been killed" the eye witness said.
Rivers State Police Command public relation officer, Almad Muhammad confirmed the incident.
