The Nigerian military in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF, on Saturday stormed a market cum camp of the Boko Haram group in Borno and killed as many as 11 terrorists.

Military troops arrived the market at about 7:30 am Saturday and opened fire on suspected terrorists found on location.

All the structures found at the camp were destroyed as the suspected terrorists, caught by surprise, fled in different directions.

Many terrorists were also seriously injured while some escaped with gunshot wounds.

But as troops withdrew from battle unhurt, Boko Haram elements staged a surprise ambush attack, which was also successfully repelled.

Earlier on Saturday troops killed an unknown number of Boko Haram fighters who attacked a military location in Kangarwa, northern Borno. Nine soldiers were injured in the encounter.
