Sports Nigeria sending 17 coaches to study in England - NFF president

President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick has revealed that seventeen Nigerian coaches will be sent to England to understudy their foreign counterparts.

The NFF boss noted that team also comprising of ex-internationals will depart the country in January to study the technicalities of the game.

Pinnick argued that Nigeria lacks the best backroom staff around, and that the training will see effective match-readers emerge to help the technical crew.

"We want to improve our technicality especially from the bench. In January we want to send 17 individuals, Coaches and ex-international to England to study back-room analysis or match-reading” Pinnick was quoted as saying by Footballlive.ng

"We don’t have a match-reader in this country and it affects our game. When we play football we do so blindly. A match-reader does the analysis of the team, he tells your the pace, fitness level and style of play of any particular player.”

"The match reader equally chronicles the game and we want to build at least 50 of them in Nigeria,” he added.
