Former Vice President of the World Bank, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, has said despite earning more than $600 billion in oil revenues in the last 13 years, government has been unable to improve the lot of the ordinary Nigerians.
Ezekwesili said this in a keynote address she delivered at the National Summit of the All Progressives Congress, in Abuja, on Thursday.
She observed that increased oil revenues have failed to translate into an improvement in the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
The two time Nigerian minister also lamented that Nigerians do not fare better than citizens of war torn nations like Afghanistan or impoverished nations like Chad when welfare indices were applied.
