Sports Nigerian League season to kick off on March 7- LMC

Finally, the League Management Company have announced that the 2014/15 league season of the Nigerian Professional Premier league will commence on the 7th of March, 2015.

This date was agreed upon after all the clubs reached a truce on the most suitable date to commence the new season.

LMC Chief Operating Officer (COO) Salihu Abubakar announced that the clubs have been told that there would be mid-week fixtures to accommodate the hectic fixtures.

“As part of the registration process for the new season, Clubs are to mandatorily provide a quarterly Financial Performance Guarantee of N50m which is a condition for licensing to participate in the league. Clubs that are in a position to provide a one-off Performance Guarantee of N200m is also encouraged to do so”, Abubakar stated.

LMC also informed the clubs of a registration deadline before February 20, when they are expected to submit their licensing documents.

Kano Pillars are the defending champions of the league and they have emerged victorious since the last three seasons while Enyimba and Warri Wolves came second and third last season. Goal
