An exclusive report by SAHARA REPORTERS shows that the Nigerian Prisons Service, under the leadership of the Controller-General Ahmed Ja’afaru and Minister of the Interior Abdulrahman Dambazau, has hired around 538 recruits without following established laws for public recruitment exercises.

The media house claims that sources leaked two separate lists of names of new recruits who were to undergo new hire training in Lagos or Kaduna. The title of the first list is “List of Newly Recruited ASP in Training” and that it is to take place at the Prisons Training College in Kiri-Kiri, Lagos State. The second list is titled “List of Newly Recruited Trainees June 2016” and that it is to take place at Prisons Training School in Kaduna State.

Majority of the illegal hires are from northern states, according to these same sources. A casual tally of all 538 names found that around 370 were from 14 northern states, or about 68% of total illegal hires.

The young (i do not use the word youths as they can be up to 70 years old) should tear up the falsities of past glory and set the new agenda.

Yes, @curator you are right. Youngsters can rescue the menace but economic, political and social vices might not allow such to happen in a rush.

At the end, We still have Hope.

First CBN. Then FIRS. Now Prisons. What of tens of other Federal organizations illegally recruiting and we don't know. This is not a leadership problem. This is a Nigerian problem since illegal recruitment has been happening in Nigeria since the days of Lord Lugard. The onus is on the Federal government to put an end to this and if possible, prosecute those responsible.

The federal government?

I think the anger level in Nigeria hasn't reached the point where people demand public officials be accountable.

That's what's up.
