President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday stated that the country's economy is starting all over afresh.

Buhari expressed regret that the country took things for granted when it had so much money and was now like starting all over again on the economy.

The president said this while receiving Ambassador Nasser Bourita, a special envoy of King Mohammed VI of Morocco, who is also the country’s Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja yesterday.

“For us in Nigeria, it is like starting all over again. There was a time we had so much money and took things for granted. But with the fall in the international price of oil, we are now managing,” Buhari said.

He welcomed the plan by Morocco to establish a fertiliser plant in Nigeria which would serve the country and the entire West Africa.
In his remarks, Bourita said his country had developed a strategy to deal with religious extremism, and had largely been successful in fighting terrorism.
