The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has lauded the decision of the South East governors forum calling for the release of their leader Nnamdi Kanu from Prison.

The governors had met last Sunday with a resolution to speak with President Muhammadu Buhari on the matter.

Reacting to the development, IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful, said the group's leader would be free now if the governors were as courageous as Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose.

“If they had summoned the courage, like Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State and former Anambra State governor, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, the South-East wouldn’t have been in such a moral mess as it is today," he said.

"We hope this new found boldness will lead them to speaking up for the victims of Fulani herdsmen attacks in our rural communities," he added.
