Sports NPFL Title Contention: Kano Pillars Coach Talks Tough

Kano Pillars coach, Mohammed Babaganaru has confirmed that his side are on course to defend the Nigeria Professional Football League title they won last season.

The Kano outfit kicked off the ongoing season on a low but got their campaign back on track after reinstating Babaganaru, who has played four games without losing one since he was rehired.

His recent victory was that of their 4-1 thumbing of the Oluyole Warriors on Sunday, which has equally moveth them among the top six teams on the log, six points behind league leaders, Sunshine.

“We are genuine title contenders again,” declared a confident Babaganaru after his team saw off a determined Shooting Stars in front of their fans on Sunday.

“Our performance against Shooting Stars must be a warning to Enyimba, who we will play against on Wednesday in Aba.”

They face by far their sternest test on Wednesday against title contenders Enyimba, who Babaganaru has picked to jostle for the championship alongside Sunshine Stars.

“Enyimba and Sunshine will give us a good fight (for the title). They have good quality,” admitted the former Nasarawa United handler.

Meanwhile, Pillars forward Moses Ekpai was named man of the match against 3SC and he dedicated his award to his mother. AfricanFootball
