Business Priscillah Mabelane Appointed As British Petroleum's First Black Female CEO

Priscillah Mabelane has been appointed as the new chief executive of BP Southern Africa,according to reports from eNCA.

The news website added that Ms Mabalane will be the first woman in the country's oil industry to head a multi-national company like BP

Before joining BP in 2011 as chief financial officer (CFO), eNCA says Ms Mabelane held senior roles at Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA), international tax and assurance company Ernst & Young, and South African electricity supplier Eskom.

She will resume her post on the 1st of September

BP Southern Africa chairperson, Thandi Orleyn, was quoted as saying:

Given her proven track record in her previous executive roles, we are confident that Priscillah will be a strong leader for our business, especially as we continue to explore new areas of growth and development."
