Sports Raul tips Cristiano Ronaldo to be the best all time player

Former Real Madrid star Raul has tipped Cristiano Ronaldo to go on and become the greatest player of all time.

Raul who himself was a prolific goalscorer for Real, said that if Ronaldo continues with his goal-scoring form, he would be unrivaled as the best player.

Ronaldo is in one of his best forms, and has even scored more than 20 goals this season for his team.

The Portuguese has been shortlisted alongside Lionel Messi and Manuel Neuer for the Ballon D'or award, with many tipping him to win it for a second successive time.

"I think now he is at the top, and if continues the same way, he could be the best of all time," Raul, 37, told the BBC World Service World Football show.

"I think Cristiano and Lionel Messi are two of the best players in the history of the game. Are they better than Pele or Diego Maradona?

"They are at the top, but I think it is difficult in football to say who is first or second or third. But if Cristiano continues for five years..."
