The Rivers state commissioner of Police, Mr. Francis Odesanya, is in trouble for helping the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, prevent the arrest of a judge in the state by DSS operatives, Punch reports.

When Governor Wike rushed to the house of the judge, he was said to have been joined by the commissioner who with his men prevented the security agencies from carrying out a legitimate order.

“The Rivers Commissioner of Police will be dealt with appropriately. It has been established that the DSS officials who were at the judge’s residence had with them duly signed search and arrest warrants," an official who is familiar with the matter said.

“By stopping the security agents from doing their work, what he did was to obstruct justice. He stopped those people from carrying out a legitimate order.

“He will be sanctioned accordingly.” the officer added.
