Senator Isah Misau has demanded an end to the nefarious activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad unit of the Nigerian police following public complaints over their conduct and behaviors.
Speaking during plenary on Tuesday, he cited orders 42 and 52 and spike on the recent happenings with the SARS and the public which calls for urgent intervention. He accused the SARS of several atrocities including intimidation, civilian brutality and extortion; and also said they were being controlled and used by some top government officials.
He called on the senate to investigate human right abuses by SARS and asked it to be ended.
