Nigerian Senators on Wednesday demanded immediate resignation of Secretary General of the Federation, Babachir Lawal over allegations of corruption in disbursements of Northeast funds.

The firm allegedly belonging to SGF awarded contract to clear grass in IDP camp Senate report investigating diversion of billions.

The interim report submitted by the Ad-Hoc Committee on Mounting Humanitarian Crisis in North-East on Thursday indicted the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachair Lawal.

Senator Shehu Sani-led Committee was set up unravel massive corruption allegedly perpetrated by public officers in the management of Boko Haram crisis.

Sani who presented the report disclosed that Lawal was director in one of the companies’ indicted to have perpetrated corruption in the management of North-East crisis funding.

Senator Dino Melaye described the development as abominable and demanded Lawal’s resignation and prosecution.
