Sports Super Falcons will beat South Africa - Onome Ebi

Super Falcons central defender, Onome Ebi has described their semi final clash against the Bayana Bayana of South Africa as a do-or-die affair.

Ebi, who was a part of the team that lost to South Africa in the 2012 edition of the tournament said that they have learnt from the mistake they made last time.

Nigeria will battle South Africa for a place in the AWC finals, hoping to seal one of the three automatic tickets for the FIFA World Cup tournament.

"We lost to Banyana last time because we were not able to take our chances while they converted their only chance to win. We've learnt our lesson and that will be our guiding principle when we meet on Wednesday in the semifinal.

"This match means so much to us. We know a win will give us ticket to the Fifa Women's World Cup in addition to chance taking home the trophy so we'll take the match as if it was the final.

"We've to revenge that loss and restore our pride as African champions. We just have to beat them to reach the final," she added.

Ebi further added that they are better prepared now to play South Africa, than they were in 2012.

"We've young and energetic players who have made Super Falcons compact and strong ready to take any side.

"The encounter is certain to be difficult but we're condemned to see South Africa kiss the dust," said Ebi.
