Real Madrid on Tuesday night defeated Bayern Munich to advance to the semi final of the champions league, winning 6-3 on aggregate.

Madrid won by 4 goals to 2. Ronaldo scored an hatrick and substitute Marco Asensio scored the last goal while Bayern got goals via a Lewandowski penalty and a Sergio Ramos own goal.

Many would believe that the sending off of Arturo Vidal in the second half when things were at a stalemate tipped the odds in Madrid's favor.

Vidal was already on a yellow before his seemingly innocuous sliding tackle on Marco Asensio got him the second one, which accumulated into a red.

Bayern Manager Carlo Ancelotti thought it was a harsh decision.

"In a quarter-final you have to put a better referee, or it is the moment to introduce video refereeing, which is what Uefa are trying, because there are too many errors," he said.

"I don't get involved if decisions are right or wrong," said Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.

"Everyone has their own opinions, some might say it was not a second yellow card for Vidal, some might say it is.

"Cristiano's goal might have been offside but it doesn't change anything."
