NAN – Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, governor of Delta state has told the residents of the Kokori community of the Ethiope-East LGA to stay within the confines of their homes from 6 pm to 6am until further notice. He took care, however to mention that this was not a curfew.

He said this at the Government House Annex in Warri during a news briefing where he said the imperative was necessary for the safety of life and property in the community.

He added that the current security measures were already yielding positive fruits and that the oil companies in the LGA could go about their normal business.

He also recounted that the arrest of the famous kidnapper, Kelvin Oniarha, had brought rest and relief to the state. He noted, however that Oniarha had not been working, and his supporters were still at large. He said one of such supporters, Oniarha’s chief priest, a man names Michael Omonigho was currently in the custody of soldier awaiting interrogation.

Governor Uduaghan expressed his distaste at the way the residents of Kokori had come dancing around Oniarha and his henchmen when they had issued the FG a 60-day amnesty ultimatum.

He said that the state government would no longer treat the issue of kidnap with levity.
