Sports Van Gaal releases a-20 man pre-world cup squad

Netherlands head coach Louis van Gaal has selected a-20 man provisional squad for his pre-World Cup training camp ahead of the summer world cup in Brazil.

The Oranje will undergo a 10-day training stage in Hoenderloo before facing Ecuador in a friendly at the Amsterdam Arena on May 17.

Van Gaal, whose contract with the Oranje men expires after the world cup has only selected players plying their trade in the Eredivisie as the rest of the squad complete their respective league seasons, with the remaining internationals set to join up at the end of the month.

Van Gaal will announce a 30-man pre-World Cup selection on May 30 ahead of flying to Portugal where Netherlands will complete their preparations for the tournament. That selection will then be reduced to a final list of 23 names. goal

Oranje face Ghana on May 31 and Wales five days later.
