Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, today received the 21 released Chibok schoolgirls on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari who is currently in Germany.
The VP was accompanied by Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and culture and Senator Aisha Alhassan, minister of women affairs. Addressing the girls, Osinbajo said, ''All these many months the entire country has been awaiting your return, and we're glad to have you back.
''We've contacted your parents and families, they know where you are & very soon they will be joining you here. President Buhari is very excited about your return.''
The VP further assured the girls that the Federal government will take care of their health, education and upkeep.
The names of the released girls are yet to be published. There are 21 girls in all, and a little boy, born to one of the girls—and who medical personnel say is about 20 months old.
