Sports We did not play to our best on Saturday - Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that they were not at their best in the victory over Hull City on Saturday.

The Blues secured a 2-0 home win that helped them consolidate on their position on the league table, with Eden Hazard and Diego Costa providing the goals for them.

Chelsea defeated a ten-man Hull, but they themselves were lucky to have finished with the game with 11 players, with Gary Cahill escaping being sent off by referee Chris Foy.

"It was not a special performance, it was just a good enough performance. We were never in trouble," Mourinho said after the game.

"The 10 against 11 didn't change the game. As always Steve's team was very well organised, made it difficult but we scored early and I think the team felt quite comfortable and we never felt any danger.

Mourinho also praised the contributions of Eden Hazard and John Obi Mikel in the match.

"Eden Hazard is a great kid and he had a chance to rest midweek, so today we could see his freshness and it's always good to have on the pitch a player like him. John Mikel Obi also had a very positive performance. Once more a big player for us didn't play - this time Fabregas - and the people who replaced him assumed responsibility."
