Sports Why we have not offered Keshi a new contract - NFF President

President of the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) Amaju Pinnick has refuted suggestions that there are external influences forcing him to offer Stephen Keshi a contract.

Keshi's position as Super Eagles manager is still not certain, with the 52-year old yet to be offered a new deal by the NFF.

Considering the manner that Keshi was brought back to the national team in November after being laid off, there have been insinuations that there has been pressure on the NFF to renew his contract.

However, Pinnick debunked such, further stating that they are working on every loose end on a potential deal.

"Certainly I’m not under any pressure from quarter to employ Keshi,” Pinnick told footballive.ng

"Signing a contract involves a lot of details that must be sorted. So many factors must be put in perspective, a harmonious working condition with relevant departments of the Football federation inclusive.”

"Such issues affect a contract proposal, but we don’t have any problem keeping Keshi,” he noted.
