Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has sacked the Caretaker Committees of 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
A statement by Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media said the sack is with immediate effect.
Those sacked are to handover to the most senior officials in their respective councils. The LGAs affected by the sack are: Abua/Odual, Akuku Toru, Ahoada East, Andoni, Bonny, Eleme, Emohua, Etche, Ikwerre, Obio/Akpor, Ogu/Bolo, Okrika, Ogba/Egbema /Ndoni, Omuma, Oyigbo, Port Harcourt City and Tai.
