Sports Women’s Afrobasket: Nigeria crashes in first game

It was not the kind of start Nigeria would have wanted at the 2013 Afrobasket Women championship in Maputo,as the national female Basketball team on Friday lost their opening match of the competition.
The D’Tigress lost their first game to title favourites for the tournament, Angola,losing by 60-46 points.
Angola was by far the better team of both sides,as they comfortably controlled the game and led in all quarters to win the game.
Prior to the tournament Nigeria’s coach Scott Nnaji,hinted on their poor preparations for the tournament,which was made manifest in their first game against Angola.
Nigeria’s next game is against Kenya as they would be hoping for a win in order to challenge for qualification into the next round.
Nigeria is in group B alongside: Angola, Mali, Cameroon, Cape Verde and Kenya.
