Sports CAF Champions League Results: Kano Pillars win in South Sudan, Warri Wolves in Burkina Faso

It was tale of mixed results for the Nigerian clubs who had continental engagements on Saturday, recording two wins and one loss.

Incidentally, the Nigerian sides were all playing away from home, with both Kano Pillars and Warri Wolves winning their matches while Dolphins FC got beaten.

Pillars who are competing in the CAF Champions League preliminary stage, secured an away victory, beating South Sudan's Al-Malaika 2-0 in Juba.

Two second half goals from Gambo Mohamed and Christain Obiozor powered Okey Emordi's team to victory, with the team now needing to complete the job in Kano.

Pillars will host Al-Malaika in a fortnight, aiming to qualify for the next stage of the competition having gained an upper hand.

Meanwhile in the Confederations Cup, Warri Wolves emulated Pillars and won an away match as well.

Warri Wolves defeated RC Bobo-Dioulasso 1-0 to take the advantage going into the return fixture at home.

But it wasn't the same story for Dolphins who lost their match against Equatorial Guinean club , Leones Vegetarianos 1-0.
