The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, for claiming that Peter Obi, not Bola Tinubu, won the presidential election held on February 25, 2023. In a statement signed by the party's spokesperson, Felix Morka, the APC accused Lawal of not learning from his recent political defeat and called him a "burden unto himself."

They also suggested that he was suffering from psychological damage following the defeat of his candidate, Peter Obi. The statement pointed out Lawal's factual inaccuracies and challenged him to provide a detailed breakdown of the so-called "aggregated facts sourced from independent sources" that he claimed proved Obi's victory.

The APC criticized Lawal for making unsubstantiated claims while the matter is still before the Supreme Court and noted that he should focus on managing his farm instead of becoming a needless distraction. Lawal, a former associate of Bola Tinubu, left the APC for the Labour Party after Tinubu chose a different running mate for the election.
