The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, expressed confidence that Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, recently ousted by the Appeal Court, will face defeat at the Supreme Court. Following the Appeal Court's decision, which upheld the Kano State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal's ruling annulling Governor Yusuf's election, the court declared Nasiru Gawuna of the APC as the rightful winner of the March 18 governorship election in Kano.
Governor Ganduje, reacting to the verdict, lauded the judiciary for upholding justice and democracy. He expressed gratitude for the victory, emphasizing the resilience of democracy in Nigeria. Despite Governor Yusuf's optimism about reclaiming victory at the Supreme Court, Ganduje, buoyed by the Appeal Court ruling, vowed that the APC candidate would triumph at the highest court. Ganduje commended the judiciary's ability to maintain a fair administration of justice amidst distractions throughout the case, affirming the victory as a testament to the endurance of democracy in the country.
