The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a decisive statement regarding candidates whose fingerprints were not successfully captured during registration for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In response to inquiries raised on its official social media platform, JAMB clarified that rescheduling exams for individuals with uncaptured fingerprints is not an option. Emphasizing the continuity between the fingerprint-capturing process at the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and UTME registration, JAMB asserted that fingers successfully captured during NIMC registration should pose no issues during UTME examinations.

This announcement has drawn mixed reactions from candidates and stakeholders, with some expressing concerns about fairness and accessibility in the examination process. JAMB's stance highlights the board's commitment to upholding standardized procedures and maintaining the integrity of the UTME despite logistical challenges.
