Sports 2015 Nations Cup qualifiers: Why I dropped Victor Moses - Stephen Keshi

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has defended his decision to drop Victor Moses from his squad to play the remaining 2015 Nations Cup qualifiers, stating that the player was not fit when he drafted the list.

Keshi argued that Moses was still recuperating from an injury and not fully fit to face the rigors of qualifiers, however he noted that the Stoke City player is still in his plans.

Moses this week, admitted that Keshi made the right decision to leave him out of his team for the forthcoming qualifiers.

“When we were preparing the list, Moses was not fully fit and as such we thought it right to leave him out of the games," Keshi said.

“But we are happy that he is fully back now and we would have him in the squad in the feature as he remains a part of this family.”

Moses last played for Nigeria at the 2014 World Cup tournament in Brazil, and couldn't make the trip to play against Sudan ,after copping an injury in a League game for his club.

The Super Eagles will this weekend play against Congo, before coming back to Nigeria to play South Africa.
