Sooner or later, Chibok school girls will come home. Is Nigeria ready to receive the schoolgirls? They have been through the most horrible situation imaginable, and need to be protected from so much more.
Here are 6 things President Buhari should put in place before the Chibok girls return:
1. Rehabilitation Center
The schoolgirls will need professional care when they regain their freedom. A rehabilitation center with experts will help reintegrate them into society. The rehabilitation center will also serve as a shelter until they're ready to rejoin society.
2. Education Trust Fund
The Chibok schoolgirls were kidnapped from a school, what better way to shame enemies of education than ensuring that the girls get all the education they need at the expense of the state. An education trust fund will make sure the girls have an almost free ride through school - Nigeria owes them that much.
3. Improved Security
Chibok schoolgirls were not the only people kidnapped by Boko Haram, they are however the symbol of many others who were kidnapped. President Buhari needs to effect massive security changes in the country to make sure such events never occur again.
4. Media Protection
The President needs to protect the girls from the press. Other than the initial contact with the Press, the girls need to be kept away from cameras. The Presidency needs to work out a deal that guarantees the girls' privacy and a chance of a normal life.
5. Private adoption channels
The one Chibok girl that has been freed, Amina Ali has a baby. Chances are the other girls will also turn up with babies. They need to know that they have an option of quietly giving out the babies if they choose to. With the help of the government, private adoptions can be arranged.
6. Fact finding committee
Some many things do not add up in the story of the Chibok schoolgirls abduction. In order to prevent reoccurence, the government needs to know all the facts. They also need to prosecute all those involved in the abduction of the innocent Chibok schoolgirls.

Nobody deserves to go through what the Chibok schoolgirls have been through. Every country should be able to protect its children regardless of their backgrounds. Nigeria has to make things right for the return of Chibok schoolgirls, this country must not fail them again.
