600 Enrol for Action Learning MBA with Business School Netherlands

Over 600 hundred participants have enrolled for subject specific three-day Action Learning executive development courses as well as the Executive MBA at the Business School Netherlands in Nigeria as the executive school expands its offerings.

Visiting global President of Business School Netherlands Mrs Juanita Bouwer disclosed the development Friday at a press briefing as part of her visit to Nigeria.

The Executive Management Education courses are in Customer Relationship Management Business Development, Finance for Non-Financial Managers Human Resources Management, Marketing Management, and Risk Management. Other courses are in Operations Management, Six-Sigma, Total Quality Management,Heart of Leadership, Human Capital Development.

The three-day intensive executive courses are offered in Lagos and Abuja Study Centres of Business School Netherlands (BSN) for a fee of N150 000 per participant, according to CEO of BSN Nigeria Mr Lere Baale.

Mrs Bouwer was in Nigeria as part of activities marking the Silver Jubilee of the business school with headquarters in Netherlands and outreach in 15 countries across the world. She added, “My visit is also in particular to welcome over 40 new graduates of our Executive MBA programme from Nigeria personally. The present class brings to 200 the number of graduates of our MBA programme from Nigeria and it is a significant landmark and achievement. I shared with them their joy and expectations for the future as they proudly proclaim their membership of the worldwide growing body of alumni of Business School Netherlands.”

Mrs Bouwer said BSN is interested in growing its activities in Nigeria given warm and enthusiastic response of the Nigerian market to its unique Action Learning pedagogy.

The global President who said Nigeria is a “strong centre” of the 15 centres of BSN, stated further, “We are looking at greater collaboration with Nigeria in solving Africa’s economic and leadership challenges using our unique Action Learning approach in preparing future generations for a better life. We expect that the managers and specialists who train using our Action Learning methodology would apply their practical learning to solving problems in their various workplaces and accelerating productivity. Higher productivity of all resources is critical for enhancing development in Nigeria. As several authorities have noted, when we get development right in Nigeria, we have gotten it right in Africa. “

Business School Netherlands was recently ranked in the Top Five among business schools in Netherland. Business School Netherlands commenced offering tuition in Nigeria in 2003, operating from the African Leadership Centre Otta before moving to its own premises in Ikeja GRA. It also has study centre in Abuja.
It offers the Executive MBA programme and now requires that students must spend some time in Netherlands to inculcate the culture and values of the school in its home setting before graduation.

Mrs Bouwer was satisfied with the response of the Nigerian market to the school and its products. According to her, “We are greatly encouraged by the companies who have been sending us more students every year following the work of those who preceded them. It indicates acceptance of our programmes.”
