Sports AFCON 2015: Morocco no longer wants to host the Nations Cup

Morocco have told the Confederations of African Football(CAF) that they will can no longer host the 2015 African Nations Cup tournament.

It has been a long drawn issue whether the tournament would go on or not, with Morocco insisting that it be postponed because of the outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease on the continent.

CAF last week Monday remained adamant that they will not shift the tournament as was requested by the Kingdom of Morocco, giving them until yesterday to decide if they still wanted to host the competition.

The continent's football body is now expected to look for new hosts for the competition, less than two months before the start of the tournament on January 17, 2015.

Already, South Africa and Egypt have declined to bail out CAF by stepping in as alternate hosts, with Ghana looking like a possible host.
