DAILY TRUST reports that speaking at a Press Conference on Thursday in Yola, the spokesperson of the group, Maryam Ibrahim said Aisha being a Fulani woman had violated the Fulani culture and jettisoned the tradition of modesty of Fulanis by openly criticising her husband.

"It is against this backdrop, that we unanimously condemned Mrs Aisha Buhari's BBC interview because it is ill-timed, counter-productive and was done in bad taste. Consequently, Mrs Aisha Buhari's action negate the spirit of Pula'aku, modesty and decorum which are virtues of fulbe (Fulani).

The group lamented that Mrs Buhari had set a bad precedent in the presidency.

"However, we would like to use this forum to re-iterate our total support and cooperation to President Muhammadu Buhari in his effort to restore the lost glory of Nigeria as a giant of Africa," the statement added.

She is 'first lady' of Nigeria formerly wife of the president of the federal republic of Nigeria. It is all in the title

@curator " First Lady" is a nomenclature, constitutionally Nigeria don't have anything of such. Beside, PMB can do away with her as a wife, islamically PMB is entitle to four wives. However, what she did is against the culture and tradition of Fulani, traditionally she should be dealt with squarely.

If what she did has a greater purpose, then so be it. Many people have spoken against their traditions for a greater good.

Well, maybe I don't like some bits of our culture. African culture should come into modernity.

You should expect something like this from the north coupled with their cultural values, customs and beliefs.

It is not just a northern issue. The result would have been the same if the president was from the south and the first lady openly criticizes his policy and approach
