World At Least 51 Killed in Taiwanese Plane Crash

At least 51 people have died after a passenger jet crash landed in Taiwan, Taiwanese media reports. Seven people are also reportedly injured.

The TransAsia flight crashed on the Penghu Island of Taiwan, reports Taiwan's Central News Agency. The plane is also said to have crashed into at least two houses.

The Wire says "Flight GE222 left Kaohsiung Siaogang Airport at 5 P.M. and was scheduled to land in Penghu's Magong Airport at 5:30.

The plane, carrying 54 passengers and four crew members, reportedly caught fire after it landed at the end of the runway. Seven passengers have been sent to the local hospital with burn injuries."
