Sports CAF nominates Ahmed Musa and Vincent Enyeama for African Footballer of the Year award

Two Super Eagles players Vincent Enyeama and Ahmed Musa have both been shortlisted for the African footballer of the year award.

Twenty-five players have been shortlisted by the Confederation of African Football(CAF) for the best player in 2014.

CAF said that players were nominated, taking into account their performances for both national teams and their clubs.

Some other African players who made the shortlist include the current African player of the year, Yaya Toure.

Others are: Asamoah Gyan, Kwadwo Asamoah, Emmanuel Adebayor, Vincent Aboubakar and many others.

Meanwhile, Nigeria's Ejike Uzoenyi has been nominated in the category of the "best player playing in Africa".

Late Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senso Meyiwa is also among the players nominated for the African Player of the Year (Based in Africa).

The awards will take place at a Gala event in Lagos on January 8, 2015.
