Former governor of Rivers state, and the Minister of Transport, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi lashed out at the representatives of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) who disrupted the South South edition of the Federal Government Town hall meeting held at Uyo, Akwa Ibom state's capital.
Ministers present at the event include; Information Minister Lai Mohammed, Environment Minister Amina Mohammed, Petroleum Minister Ibe Kachikwu, Minister of Budget and Natonal Planning, Udoma Udo Udoma and as well the governor of Akwa Ibom state, Udom Emmanuel.
The Ministers made presentations, and answered various questions as it concerns the economy.
Ameachi was said to have spite the NANS representatives for creating a rowdy scene after the South South Coordinator – who pride himself as the Commander-in-Chief of 11 states of the group - asked a question.
Amaechi is quoted as saying: “Whether you are APC or PDP, please sit down. I was once a student leader. We were the founders of NANS. We never had Commander-in-Chief. Our figures were right, we never came to the hall to disrupt meeting. We planned student demonstrations, and not radical. So if you say you're a student leader, and you're radical, go out with your radicalism. Your job is to listen to us”
