Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has called on militants in the Niger Delta to stop attacking oil installations and facilities in the region.

He urged the militants to embrace dialogue as the blowing up of oil facilities is negatively affecting the nation’s economy and damaging the environment, which is impacting negatively on host communities.

Gov Wike also accused Nigerian Agip Oil Company of being responsible for some of the conflicts in the area. According to him, Agip's certificate of occupancy will be revoked if it continues to act against the security of the state.

He spoke at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Friday when he received the Ogba, Ndoni, Egbema Local Area (ONELGA) Youths Consultative Council (OYCC).
