The House of Representatives has dismissed reports of a plot, being hatched by the presidency in conjunction with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to remove the Speaker, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, by bribing lawmakers.
House Committee Chairman on Media and Publicity, Hon. Zakari Mohammed (APC, Kwara), told THISDAY in a telephone interview that the issue was a mere rumour.
Some newspapers and online media had reported, citing sources that the PDP and the presidency had resorted to subterfuge and cash to remove Tambuwal, who is seen as supporting the opposition.
