10 days to Nigeria's presidential elections, 500,000 permanent voters card are yet to be produced; VANGUARD reports.
National chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega made the disclosure on Wednesday at a dialogue session he had with the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room in Abuja.
Jega said that the Abuja company which was given the contract to print the cards was unable to print the 500,000 cards because it ran out of “blank cards” for the production.
While expressing regrets on the development, Jega promised that all the PVCs that will be used for the impending elections will be ready for distribution before Sunday.
