For more than five months now that Ladoke Akintola University of Technology has been shut due to strike action, the students of the institution have appealed to the Oyo and Osun state governments, owners of the institution, to take steps to end the ongoing strike.

The students who protested to Tribune House in Ibadan on Monday described the lack of resolution of the industrial action for the past five months as one capable of putting their academic careers in jeopardy. The students have been staying at home since June when workers of the university embarked on strike over non-payment of salaries.

Ahmed Oyedeji, the spokesman of the students, alongside a former president of the students union of the school, Mr Areo Oyegoke, pleaded with the stakeholders, particularly the visitors of the university, Governors Abiola Ajimobi and Rauf Aregbesola and the Chancellor, Senator Bola Tinubu, to see to it that the crisis is resolved immediately in the interest of the students.
