The senate ad hoc committee has alleged that 24 government agencies failed to remit N1.695 trillion revenue to the consolidated revenue fund.

The committee also disclosed that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) was running on a deficit of about N3.115 trillion between 2012 and 2016.

NAN reports that the committee said more than 600 agencies were involved but listed 92 of them.

The committee, led by Olamilekan Adeola, was mandated by the senate to investigate all agencies and institutions of government charged with the responsibility of generating, collecting, accounting and remittance of internally generated revenue.

1. NNPC generated N15.5trillion in the period under review, expended N18.7trillion and recorded N3.12trillion deficit.

The report is expected to be considered this week.

2. NPA - the panel said out of the N789bn, the agency expended N610bn and remitted N68.8bn. The NPA, according to the committee failed to remit N86.6bn

3. CBN - out of the N3.1tr generated by the bank, N2.6tr was expended, N349.5bn was remitted and N13.7bn was not remitted

4. NTA - generated N56.8bn, spent N49.2bn and remitted N5.6bn in the period under review.

Other agencies that have problem of under remittance, according to the Committee include;

6. Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency(PPPRA) N1.7bn,

7. Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), N184.4bn,

8. National Health Insurance Agency (NHIS) N6.1bn, Customs N47bn

17. NTI N984m, and
