President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated Dr. Uthman Ajidagba, Chairman, Kwara State State Electoral Commission (KWASIEC), as a Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Dr. Ajidagba is one of the nine nominees submitted by the President to the Senate for confirmation.
The KWASIEC Chairman was indicted over the massive rigging that took place during November 17 council elections in the state. The elections were remarkable because most of the political bigwigs in the state lost in their respective constituencies
