Manchester United have turned down a second bid from Chelsea,for their striker,Wayne Rooney,who is eager to leave the club.
Chelsea made a late bid on Sunday, which was improved to £25m plus other add-ons but Manchester United are adamant that Rooney is not sale.
The 27-year-old has hinted that he wants to leave United,after growing disillusioned with playing bit-part role and second fiddle to Robin Van Persie.
A United spokesman said: “A bid was received yesterday and immediately rejected. Our position remains that he is not for sale.”
There are speculations that Rooney is considering handing in a transfer request in order to push for a move away from Old Trafford.
Rooney is however expected to feature against AIK in Sweden tomorrow and also in Rio Ferdinand’s testimonial match against Sevilla at Old Trafford on Friday.
