The late Nelson Mandela left behind an estate valued at more than 4.13 million dollars (about N660.8 million), Dikgang Moseneke, the South African Deputy Chief Justice, and also the executor of the will said in Johannesburg at the public reading of his will.

He said, while reading the will at a media briefing on Monday, that Mandela’s estate includes a two-storey house in the upmarket Johannesburg suburb of Houghton, where he died in December.

The will also includes a modest home in Qunu in the Eastern Cape, where Mandela was buried, and royalties from sales of his famous autobiography ``Long Walk to Freedom”.

Moseneke said Mandela left 5,000 rand each to several of his personal staff members, including Zelda la Grange who nursed him for several years.

The official said he also left 100,000 rand to each of four other educational institutions for bursaries and scholarships.

These include the Wits University, where he was educated in the 1950s, as well as Qunu Secondary School and Orlando West High School in Soweto.

He said the family trust would receive 1.5 million rand, plus royalties, while other beneficiaries listed in the will included his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Moseneke said the African National Congress (ANC) would also receive some royalties.
