Nigerian Naira appreciated 0.84% against United States dollar sixty one business days after the Central Bank of Nigeria removed peg on the Nation's currency.

The currency closed 309.83 naira to a United States dollar at the Inter-bank market.

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has retained all key indicators.

The CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, on Tuesday read the communique announcing decisions reached at its September meeting in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

The Finance Minister, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun had on Monday urged the Central Bank to lower interest rates so that the government can borrow domestically to boost the economy, which is stuck in recession, without increasing its debt-servicing costs.
