Kuje Riot: 25 Phones Seized From Boko Haram Inmate

About 25 mobile phones was seized from an ex Boko Haram member during the riot at Kuje Prisons on Monday, Punch reports. “The incident happened this morning. The warders, who were acting on instructions from the prison authorities, decided to search the cells and seize prohibited items," a source said.

Court Orders Seizure of Ex-Minister, Edem Duke's Generators Over N52m Debt

The immediate past Minister of Culture and Tourism, Chief Edem Duke's properties have been seized by Cross River State High Court, Calabar in connection with a N52m debt. The properties which are four giant generators were on Monday removed from the premises of Mirage Hotel, owned by the former Minister in Calabar, the state capital, by Sypet Oil and Chemical Limited following the court order.

Buhari: Why We Charged Iroko to Court- Police Issues Statement

The Ogun state police command has issued a statement stating why it charged Mr. Joachim Iroko, the man who reportedly named his dog "Buhari" to court. The police said Iroko was arrested following a complaint from his neighbor accusing him of inscribing "Buhari," , on both sides of the dog with the knowledge that it was his father's name.

Police said Mr. Iroko admitted to the allegations, and decided to charge him to court when efforts to settle the matter amicably failed.

Nigeria: Woman Stabs Husband to Death in Ibadan

Doris Kanung, a 35 year old woman, has been remanded in prison for stabbing her husband to death in Ibadan, Oyo state. She was on Monday arraigned Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan. Sgt. Femi Omilana, the prosecutor said she committed the act on Aug. 3, at about 11.30p.m. According to him, she allegedly stabbed her husband Vincent Kanung, 45, with a knife in the stomach following some disagreement, which resulted in his death.
