Oscar Pistorius has been sentenced to five years in jail for culpable homicide.
In a case that has dragged on for over a year, the South African "blade runner" has been convicted for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp
Pistorius was also found guilt for the Tashas shooting, and also given 3 years imprisonment for reckless firearm charge but a suspended sentence.
"Sentencing is about achieving the right balance or, in more high-flown terms, proportionality. The elements at play are the crime, the offender, the interests of society, with different nuance: prevention, retribution, reformation and deterrence," Judge Masipa said.
"The degree of negligence is such in this matter that the sentence suggested by defence witnesses - calling for house arrest - would not be suitable," the judge added.
